Nashville, Tenn. - Nashville, TN - ForeFront Records is proud to announce the upcoming career plans for Geoff Moore. Geoff Moore & The Distance are currently touring but after their last band performance in late August 1998, Geoff plans to focus on his individual career and further develop his personal ministry.
The group is currently touring in support of the Threads album, its most acclaimed recording to date which has already earned Grammy, Dove, and Nashville Music Award nominations and yielded three #1 singles ("I’m Free," "Only A Fool," and "Threads") since its release last September.
Geoff’s manager Darlene Brock, President of Brock & Associates commented, "The Threads Tour is the most fulfilling project Geoff and myself have been a part of in our six years of working together. We have seen more people in
attendance and more commitments made to Christ than at any other time in Geoff’s ministry. The blessings and opportunities that have come to light on this 100-city tour have led us to determine that the future work laid on our hearts lends itself to being done in an individual artist setting."
Geoff commented, "Threads, both the album and the tour, has opened up the ministry floodgates. I am really excited about the opportunities in front of me because there has been such purpose of ministry through all of it and God has allowed me to build relationships with numerous ministry partners. We are looking at several opportunities in late 1998 and early 1999 that I could not have previously considered over the past 12 years due to the heavy tour season with The Distance. I am looking forward to these new ventures."

In addition to recording, Geoff plans to pursue new media opportunities including print and television, further his writing credits, and increase his personal appearances. In the past year, Geoff has hosted several nationally released video projects including the Southern Baptist Vacation Bible School curriculum, The Christ for Native Youth event curriculum, and the Creation vs. Evolution documentary, No Accident…No Apologies!, released through Standard Publishing. Geoff also continues his relationship with Compassion International with his most recent visit to Ecuador being filmed for release.
Plans are also in development for Geoff to begin work on his ForeFront album as soon as the summer tour ends. This will be his first album since teaming with The Distance in 1987.E

ddie DeGarmo, ForeFront’s Executive Vice President of A&R, is looking forward to Geoff’s new project. Eddie stated, "I am excited about the discussions we are having, and I am confident that this next release will reveal another natural transformation that is taking place in the long-running career of Geoff Moore."
Geoff Moore has been a respected and prolific Christian artist since the mid 1980s. Geoff and his band The Distance signed to ForeFront Records in 1990 where they have proceeded to record five studio albums, four of them earning consecutive Grammy nominations, and one Greatest Hits package. In his own right, Geoff has co-written several noteworthy songs including Steven Curtis Chapman’s "The Great Adventure" which won the Gospel Music Association’s Song of the Year Dove Award in 1993 and the recent #1 hit "Threads," a duet
with dc Talk’s Toby McKeehan.
ForeFront is planning to release Geoff Moore’s new project in 1999.
